It’s a thin membrane of PVC flexible and malleable which can be stretched when warmed up. This stretching feature gives its name. During the installation process it is heated up with an electric or gas heater and it is pulled and fixed onto a frame fastened on the walls. So it isn’t fitted on the structural ceiling, but rather anywhere from 5cm below it.

Don’t let yourself drawn into wondering whether a thin layer of membrane can really remain stretched and flat throughout the years. It can and it will. We put our money on the line if this is not the case. In fact, we even conducted a demo of the product’s durability and flexibility: we constructed a wooden frame (3m x 3m) on which we fastened this thin membrane. After installation we had a fully grown-up person step on it with their full weight and the membrane held the weight. After the adult stepped off the Stretch Ceiling, we re-heated it and it regained its flat initial form.

A standard room is generally finished in about 3 hours.

The membrane is not affected by outdoor heat. Since it is stretched during the installation process, it will remain perfectly flat provided no pressure is applied to it. We conducted a strength test and filmed it. You can see it on our Youtube channel.
